MSC Poetry
MSC Poetry
The story of MSC Crociere begins in 1987 when Commander Gianluigi Aponte decides to widen the operative horizons of his company, already a world leader in container transport, and branch out with cruise ships into the world of tourism and vacations. More than twenty years after this debut and numerous cruise ships sailing the seas, the company launched the MSC Poesia to which this three-part book with a wealth of pictures is dedicated. The first part deals with the company history and traces the profiles of the people who lead it. The second presents the MSC Poesia, a jewel of the worldwide shipbuilding industry that along with the most modern technology and equipment serving its guests, lacks no respect for the environment and nature. The last part of the book offers a panorama of the Poesia’s routes and stopping-off places. To remind us that the new fleet of MSC ships is inspired by the words and poems of famous authors, the text and pictures are accompanied by quotations from great Italian writers: Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio, Tasso, Alfieri, Foscolo, Leopardi, Manzoni, Pascoli, Carducci, D’Annunzio, Ungaretti.
